NASTRACK continued it's trek westward from Texas into Pheonix
International Raceway. Nineteen teams made the journey with one goal in mind,
getting to victory lane. None knew what to expect as this is the earliest
in the year we've ever been on this track. Outlaw and TMC quickly
adapted to the track conditons and were the only 2 drivers to break the 25
second barrier in qualifying. Outlaw would lay down a blazing 24.625
second lap to put his Chevy on the point. J-Dogg, Boss, and Pimp would
round out the top 5 in qualifying. From the drop of the green there was
some very nice side by side racing around this odd shaped oval. The first
30 laps saw only 2 cautions for minor spins. A caution at lap 34 would
bring the race to a standstill as race scoring went on the fritz.
Reports can not be confirmed but officials were over-heard talking about
Jagerbombs and strippers. After a short delay the race was restarted with
Outlaw, Boss, Noles, J-Dogg, and TMC holding down the top 5.

- The 12 car
of Alwazup did not make the restart, again something about J-bombs and
strippers. Outlaw and Boss would jump away from the field on the
restart while TMC would take a few laps to reel them in. With the top 3 off
in their own little world, Noles, Jayman, and J-Dogg put on an amazing
race for the fourth position. Scorers finally quit tallying how many
times they passed each other and ordered another round. R Wheeler would
spin, but hit nothing and lost only 2 spots while he grabbed a gear and
the race stayed green. As green flag stops were starting Jayman and Pimp
had some contact trying to overtake a slower car and Jay's NAPA Chevy
ended up in the turn 4 wall bringing out the 4th caution of the day.
Damage was slight and he would continue. Restarting at lap 63 the race
would stay green for only 13 laps as Mayzing Media finds the outside wall
after contact with another car. Noles and TimH would stay out for track
position as the rest of the leaders pitted. This would keep them in the
top 10 until the next caution flew at lap 87 after Pops caught the turn
4 apron and spun in front of traffic on the fronstrecth. Everyone would
use this opportunity to pit except for StevedaPimp who would get his 5
bonus points. Green would fly with 28 laps left in the race, and Outlaw
and TMC would quickly resume their spot at the front. 13 laps later
RWheeler would bring out the yellow after contact with Richard. Noles and
TimH would once again stay out for track position with only 15 laps
remaining. Noles would hang tough on old tires as Outlaw, TMC, and Boss
once again showed their muscle. Pimp would spin with 5 to go setting up a
green white checkered finish. Outlaw, Boss, TMC, Noles, and Jayman
would be the top 5 as they took the green. Coming out of 4 to take the
white flag, TMC would get into the wall, collecting Boss in the process
and bringing out the yellow flag freezing the field and ending the race.
Confusion would ensue as drivers not having time to check up for the
yellow piled in created a huge mess on the fronstretch. Officials would
hold a short meeting to verify the scoring and results. Outlaw would get
his second victory of the season with Noles, Jayman, TimH and J-Dogg
rounding out the top 5. Laps led: Outlaw 72, TMC 16, Boss 14, Noles 9,
Pimp 3, Jayman 1. 10 lead changes among 6 drivers. 8 cautions for 30
laps. Time of race: 2 hrs 13 min.
